My Handsome Little Man...growing up way too fast.....

Families are the compass that guide us. They are the inspiration to reach great heights, and our comfort when we occasionally falter.
-- Brad Henry

I thought it was about time for my little guy to have some updated photos. I cannot believe that in less then a week he will be in year 3 at school...I'm sad, excited, nervous and a little anxious as this is the start to a whole new year at school..Primary ...I remember his first day of kindergarten it seems like it was only yesterday.

Not only does my only son start Primary school but my eldest daughter starts Kindergarten in just a few days time...I'm trying to be strong and am happy for both my children to experience this change in their lives but at the same time I don't think I'm ready for this momentous change....

As the day draws closer I am summoning up all my strength to enable me to enjoy their new found freedom and their joy at feeling a little bit older and to have a little bit more responsibility.

Sunrise at a Haunted beach...

Frank Lloyd Wright:
"Study nature, love nature, stay close to nature. It will never fail you"

This morning I dragged myself out of bed at 3am...yes that's right 3am...Then headed off to Jenny Dixon Beach on the Central Coast, with a bunch of other photographers. This beach is supposedly haunted and I was pretty freaked out about the whole ghost issue, I grabbed a lift with someone else because I didn't want to drive myself there as I was a little bit scared.

Well of course we arrived before anyone else and I really didn't want to get out of the car until more people arrived but after some gentle persuasion I jumped out. Well it was very eerie but what do you expect at 4.45am in a dark car park surrounded by trees on one side and a cliff face on the other.

After everyone arrived we made our way down what seemed like a never ending flight of stairs to find ourselves standing on a serene picturesque piece of paradise. It was a gorgeous sunrise the colours were amazing  the company was terrific and lucky for me there were no sightings of any ghosts!!!

Enjoy the photos and although I am feeling a little tired now it was well worth the effort of getting myself out of bed at an ungodly hour of the day to witness such a beautiful display from Mother Nature.

Handsome Little Six Week Old....

To be in your child's memories tomorrow, be in his life today.
I have to say I love doing follow on photo shoots as it amazes me how much babies and people change. Well today I had a photo shoot with a gorgeous little 6 week old baby boy. I was lucky enough to take some photos of him when he was just a few days old and  oh my goodness he has changed so much!

He was so well behaved and he let us move him around from prop to prop....I am in awe at the pace these little guys change and it really shows the importance of capturing them at these early stages. I'm sure in a blink of an eye they change.

I have to add that mum and dad are doing a wonderful job and have taken on their role as parents with ease. I hope you enjoy your sneak peak guys and I have had such a hard time choosing what to show you as there are so many to choose from...

Enjoy...

My Gorgeous Girls...

Little girls are precious gifts, wrapped in love serene. Their dresses tied with sashes and futures tied with dreams.

One thing I really struggle with is photographing my own children.....they don't listen to direction, they whinge, they don't sit still and we all end up in tears...well I decided I would give it another try and all I can say is I am so thankful that I did!!

Who knew it would be as easy as putting them into Fancy clothes and letting them wear my old jewellery....so with a chair in tow up to the bush we went. I am so amazed at how well they did, they did everything I asked plus more. I look at these photos and cannot believe how much they have changed in the last few months and how gorgeous they are...

Yes I am very biased but that's what being a mum is all about..Enjoy the sneak peak into my own family photographs everyone...

My Family

When you look at your life, the greatest happinesses are family happinesses.

Well school holidays are in full swing here and we have been keeping ourselves really busy and having a fantastic time. There has been cooking adventures, with lots of mess, we went canoeing for the first time and I might add that I am not the worlds greatest canoer...and horse riding and loads of other adventures.

Today we had some fun in the sun, of course we had slip slopped and slapped our sunscreen on!!!  My kids were having a blast on the trampoline so I decided it might be a great time to snap a few photos of them and hopefully they wouldn't notice. Well they did notice but actually were very keen to have their photos taken.

So they each wanted to show me how they did star jumps high in the sky and as you can see their expressions are priceless....Enjoy my family at play!!

Family Beach Session.

You don't choose your family.  They are God's gift to you, as you are to them.  ~Desmond Tutu

I had the honour and privilege in photographing a wonderful and delightful family at a beach location. This beach holds special memories for the mum and I hope that I have added to her cherished memories with the images I captured. I learnt a valuable lesson while viewing the photos, that is, our children should be comfortable with themselves and be able to let their personalities shine through and not have our wants or needs pushed on them.  As you can see from the photos you have three amazing and confident children which is a testament to you Mum and Dad, well done!

I was also lucky enough to get the tiniest glimpse into life with a teenager and almost teenager and all I can say is bring it on!!
I hope you enjoy the sneak peak guys, there are many more to come.
