My Family....

"This is my family. I found it, all on my own. It's little, and broken, but still good. Yeah, still good."

Author: Lilo & Stich

I took my kids up to Coffs Harbour for a few days over the school Holidays to visit my family. We had such a blast seeing Nanna, Poppy, my sister and brother and all their crazy animals!!! My kids love going up there and spending time with their extended family and I love seeing the joy it brings my Dad and Mum to see their grandkids.....

We bombarded my sister's house for a few days and let's hope she and her dog Mia recover from our visit!! As her quiet house turned into a nightclub atmosphere while we were there...Kids screaming, laughing and running around the place and having fun with her dog...not sure who had more fun the dog or my kids...

It also gave me a chance to snap a few photos of my own kids in a fun and different place....and I even managed to talk my sister into having a few photos taken as well.....but the best part of the trip was getting a photo of my parents....I know such a simple pleasure but trying to get either of them in front of the camera is worse than getting my kids photos taken....somehow with the help of my sister we managed it and I am so happy that I finally managed it....anyway here a few photos of my kids and family for you all to enjoy..next entry I will put a few photos up of Coffs Coast taken from Mutton Bird Island, which is another story all together....

I told my kids to strike a pose and this is what they gave me...priceless.....

And this is my gorgeous sister.....

Family Shoot

"Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, call it a family. Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one."

Author: Jane Howard
Today I was privileged enough to be asked to capture a family photo of a wonderful but large family...22 people in fact!!! What a lovely family they were as well which makes my session so much more fun..and yes with all those people I meant fun.

10 adults and 12 kids and 9 of those kids were probably under the age of 6!!!! Oh my goodness lets just say with these types of shoots anything can happen.....With so many little people its impossible to guarantee that everyone will be looking at the same spot for any length of time. I have to be honest I never stress about sessions but with this one well let's just say I was more then a little stressed...

I am very happy to report that somehow out of all that kaos I managed to pull a rabbit out of my hat and captured a few awesome family group shots...not sure how but maybe karma had something to do with it!!!
I hope you enjoy the sneak peak guys.

now I never put any bloopers up but just to give you an idea of what a shoot like this entails here is a glimpse at 12 kids and trying to get them all seated together, looking at the camera and most importantly smiling....yep your thinking never going to happen from this shot..but take another look at the first image and that was from the resulting shot......aaahhhh I love my job....

I also have to say that the three girls in front of the playground equipment did  a fantastic job. They stood there patiently waiting for everyone else to get into position and didn't complain once....as you can see sometimes the shots that don't go to plan are actually the best....
